Design Process

Order Up! was the final project for CTIN 488 at USC. Due to it being a class project we had a schedule of 3 weeks to complete it and each iteration was 1 week apart.

Iteration 1

In the first week, we spent our time brainstorming about what we could make for this game. Throughout our talks we came to an agreement that we wanted a quick and fun game similar to the card game spoons. From there we discussed a few different themes and we ended up deciding on the idea of being chefs and integrating a bell to match the theme.

Iteration 2

In this iteration we focused on making the cards easier to read as players had a hard time with our temporary index cards. Here we worked on card designs using Canva with the goal of making easy to recognize cards as players want to move cards quickly.

Final Iteration

In our final iteration we focused on making the rules easier to understand by changing the format from a text document to a format with more diagrams. Also we made various rule changes to ensure that certain playstyles would not hinder other players from playing the game. In the end, we submitted the game and received a nearly perfect score.
